Please come out to support us at the Poetry Cafe

Please come out to support us at the poetry cafe tomorrow.  Some of the members of the drama club will help illustrate or mime Mrs. Mathieu's spoken word poem below.  In addition, Mrs. Mathieu's 8th grade dancers will be doing a very dynamic and thought provoking performance of two songs "Break Every Chain" and "Take the Shackles Off My Feet so I can Dance."  It will be very engaging and entertaining.  Please check out Mrs. Mathieu's poem below, and click this link http://www.eventbrite.com/e/fms-pta-meeting-and-poetry-cafe-tickets-10880111707?aff=eorg to RSVP for your free food for the event.

Hello Dynamic Drama Club,

It has been a super busy weekend for me.  I just got home from a performance at Meadowcreek High School where I was able to perform my new spoken word poem titled "Break the Shackles."  I actually created and performed it today after I got home from my son's birthday party.  That is what happens when you are dedicated to your craft.  Anyway, before I performed my piece, I recorded my self reading it on www.soundcloud.com.  You may want to consider using www.soundcloud.com to help you tap into the emotion of your characters by recording yourself and sharing your voice on the web.  It will really help you to pull the emotion out of what you are saying. Nevertheless, I have embedded my audio into this blog post below, and I have posted my spoken word poem for your review.

I am here to get in your head.

Take the shackles off

Take the shackles off

You are not here by choice

You are here because you are chosen because He set the captives free.

Did you hear me?

I said he SET THE CAPTIVES FREE!

Take the shackles off

Take the shackles off

Take the shackles off

Take the shackles off

Are you free?

Forget the money problems.

They are not real

Forget the pain from the past.

They are there to distract you.

Forget the divorce.

The drugs...

The lies

The thugs

The cries

The grudge

And the confusion

GOD HAS ALREADY SET YOU FREE

DO YOU HEAR ME?

I SAID GOD HAS ALREADY SET YOU FREE

Take the shackles off

Take the shackles off

Take the shackles off

Take the shackles off

Are you free?

I said are YOU free?

BREAK THE CHAINS OF DEBT

BREAK THE CHAIN OF THOSE OTHER TESTS

YOUR LIFE IS TESTED SO THAT YOU MAY BE A TESTIMONY

STOP ACTING LIKE YOU DON’T KNOW THE TRUTH

STOP LIVING YOUR LIFE INSIDE A BOX HELD DOWN BY THE SHACKLES IN YOUR MIND

SPEAK TO THAT DEMON AND TELL HIM TO LEAVE IN JESUS NAME.

BREAK EVERY CHAIN.

BREAK EVERY CHAIN

BREAK EVERY CHAIN.
